NATURE OF WORK
Under general supervision, implements and delivers programs using an educational format to provide information and teach skills to parents/guardians and juveniles in juvenile justice system and reports to grant funding agency on program participation and effectiveness.

Example of Work

(Illustrative Only) Participates in the development of prevention programs related to the youth in the juvenile justice system, to include parenting programs; identifies program needs for staffing, volunteers, equipment, supplies and other materials; provides data outcome and process measures; operates within the established parameters, guidelines, policies and procedures of assigned programs and projects; provides an education curriculum, utilizing the philosophy of Kids at Hope, on the skills necessary to increase parental capabilities and increase knowledge of the complexities of the juvenile justice System to reduce out of home permanency timeframes; utilizes positive reinforcement strategies to promote an intrinsic change in the behavior of parents; provides an education curriculum reduce delinquent behavior and substance abuse, and reduce the recidivism rate of juveniles in the juvenile justice system; utilizes positive reinforcement strategies to promote an intrinsic change in the behavior of juveniles; develops curriculum for presentations, interactive exercises and classroom assignments; schedules presentations of guest speakers for diversion, probation youths, Hope Assessment Center youths and parents; develops schedules, arranges facilities, helps to provide training, oversees volunteers, and facilitates lessons for internal programs; works with families as a resource regarding the process for the child's welfare and participates as a member of the child' decision making team; meets with parents and/or juveniles on a regular basis to promote willingness to engage in the process and reduce non-compliance with the established case plan; tracks compliance indicators and prepares reports for funding agency and others on program participation and effectiveness; participates in community outreach and public meetings to promote collaborative information sharing, inter-agency cooperation and communication; provides a variety of administrative services in the operation of delinquency/dependency family support programs; responds to requests for information within the scope of authority; maintains and enforces absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records and Court information; monitors staff compliance to security procedures and privacy laws, policies and guidelines; performs related duties as required or assigned.

Experience and Education

High school diploma or GED: AND two (2) years of youth or family support program facilitating; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks, to include a Department of Child Services registry clearance; a valid Arizona State Driver's License may be required; understands and promotes the believing, connecting and time traveling concepts of the Kids at Hope philosophy; demonstrates commitment to the Court's Strategic Plan, mission statement and department's goals; the above information is not to be considered a complete statement of additional requirements. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a standard office environment, detention facility and/or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Hourly rate for this position has been revised effective 3/4/24.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: Applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, and applicable Federal rules and requirements; Superior Court and Juvenile Court Policies and Procedures; legal terminology and court processes and procedures; basic grant project management principles and reporting standards for participating agencies; basic principles of accounting, bookkeeping, record keeping, case and records management; specialized state software applications, including Juvenile On-Line Tracking System (JOLTS); evidenced based practices for group facilitation, interviewing and training; basic principles and practices in behavior management; community resources and services; adolescent development.
Skills in: Coordinating and overseeing juvenile court programs and services; analyzing individual situations and circumstances and developing recommendations for solutions; identifying and applying operational standards for the program; maintaining accurate records; establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with court officers, co-workers, families and local agencies; interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds; communicating effectively verbally and in writing; operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.

Medical Coverage Category
The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 900 deductible with $10.00 Wellness Incentive. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.
Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,200 deductible with $10.00 Wellness Incentive. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.
Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) or HDHP-HSA with Wellness Incentive.
HDHP-HSA Wellness Incentive for Employee Only option can receives upto $240.00 annual contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
